German silver shield shape monogram plate on belly of stock. Finely figured “DOLPHIN HEAD” hammers. All original including the wood ramrod. Very good condition crisp grey metal patina and the original stock finish. Locks in working order. Bores with light pitting. Edward Corning & Co. was a hardware store in lower Manhattan in the 1840’s-1860’s. Probably the product of a New York maker made for Corning. Engraving looks very similar to Louis Nimschke’s work and who was only a few blocks away. $650.
